The day starts early with a lot of action! A strengthening breakfast and lots of coffee for Mamas!
And then we are on board: the dining car of the steam train of the Chemin de Fer du Jura! Tim is a great salad eater - There is potential for Ella Tili to learn of him!
Great trains where you still can lower the windows!
It is a long and hot and tight journey - apricot tart from the wood oven bakery in Les Emibois does help Anet and Mama to get new strenghts! And then all of a sudden horses gallop along the train, and there is shooting onging!!! Everybody rushes to the windows!
Ella Tili is thoughtful about the hostage taking.
Randsom negotiations.
Typical Jura: when the hostages are back, kidnappers and victims get a glass of white wine, and the entire train waits!
It could be a romantic train trip as well - for later to come again, Anet and Mama think!
I have been writing short stories since living away from my home country Switzerland. Living abroad is the encounter of the difference, seeking to understand it, appreciating it. Travelling is searching for the moments, the people, the landscapes. Writing it down is trying to save the moments for longer. The stories you want to tell your grandchildren when you will be old.
The pleasure of traveling – moving – is most often found in the smallest of details. The big splashes are always remembered. But it is the collection of smaller, more intimate moments that often define the memory of a trip!
Enjoy!
